Personal Training

At the heart of CrossFit Morden’s success is our incredibly supportive community. Although our regular group classes are designed to meet the needs of our large and varied community, there are times when private training works best. You might be looking for some focused attention to master a new skill or maximize your efficiency with a current strength – things that go beyond what can be accomplished in a normal group setting. This option also works well for the person who isn’t quite ready to work within the group setting. Private training is an amazingly effective and efficient way to achieve your individual fitness goals. Your coach will work with you to identify and clarify your goals, assess your movement, and design a program specifically for you. Your private coaching experience will be tailored to your specific needs, and may include:

  • Mobility exercises to improve and restore joint range of motion
  • Skill-based warm-up to prepare for specific movement patterning
  • Strength and conditioning exercises chosen to specifically achieve your goal
  • Post-workout recovery techniques
  • Health, wellness, and lifestyle support
  • Homework for you to complete on your own

Private coaching is recommended if you have been sedentary for a long period of time, are training for a specific sport or event, have significant health limitations, or just prefer the additional attention and accountability that one-on-one sessions provide.

Each of our coaches hold a minimum of CrossFit Level 1 Certificate and each have a specific interest or specialization. Based on what you’re looking for, we would recommend a particular coach for you. Sport-Specific Training

Reid is a goalie who’s been consistently training one-on-one with Josh since March, 2019. Josh creates specific programming for Reid’s position – these photos show Reid working on his lateral pushing and core stability so that he can more efficiently enter the recovery position at the net.

One-on-one Training is a great option for you if are a specific sport athlete, prefer to train on your schedule (as opposed to our group class schedule), or you have a goal that you want to hone in on.

2019 Midget Hockey Summer Camp Information:

As someone who is physically challenged by living with Multiple Sclerosis many people were shocked that I was attending a CrossFit gym.  I was quick to inform them Brooke Nelson was delivering specialized programming for me and my very specific needs.

I originally approached Brooke to become my private yoga teacher, which is where our motivational relationship began.  What Brooke came up with was a fantastic individualized approach to help strengthen me, BOTH physically and mentally!  We began by weekly honing in on the specific muscle groups that needed the most attention.  The result was a stronger way for me to tackle everyday, knowing how to most effectively assist my body in working the most efficiently.  This program and experience continues to allow me a more positive and confident outlook—and to be the strongest MS Warrior I can be.

Thank you Brooke and CrossFit Morden for this life changing experience!!

Phillip

I signed up for a session with Josh to work on some snatch techniques to improve my lifting.  I’ve been doing CrossFit for just over a year but haven’t really had much exposure to the full, proper snatch lift. The concept of dropping underneath the bar still felt foreign to me. Josh gave me great instruction. He broke down this complex lift into manageable components that could be practiced on their own to improve both my technique and mobility to get into the proper positions. He gave great instruction using video analysis and demonstration so I could really understand and visualize how to properly and effectively execute the snatch. I gained a lot of confidence during this training session and would strongly recommend booking a session with Josh if you want quality instruction on the basic and finer points of lifting and any other CrossFit movements.

Ben

Josh helped me break down my skipping so I could “see” how inconsistent my jumps are between singles and double-unders. He gave me great cues to fix the little things too like grip and seeing the rope and my hands. Now I have my work cut out for me but with tools I can use to fix when it goes sideways.
